Men's Health in NYC

Straightforward, Private, and Actually Addressed

Most men put off talking to a doctor about the things that actually bother them — low energy, changes in sexual function, hair loss, feeling weaker than they used to. It's not that these things don't matter. It's that the healthcare system doesn't make it easy to have that conversation.

A 15-minute annual physical doesn't leave room for it. A rotating roster of providers means starting from scratch every time. And walking into an urgent care for something personal feels like the wrong setting entirely.

At U Care MD, Dr. Kuan-Yu Chen takes a direct, matter-of-fact approach to men's health — the kind of issues that often go unaddressed not because they're untreatable, but because no one's made it easy to bring them up.

Erectile Dysfunction (ED)

ED is one of the most common men's health concerns — and one of the most underreported. Many men assume it's just a normal part of aging, or feel embarrassed to raise it with a doctor. In reality, ED is often a treatable condition, and in some cases an early indicator of underlying cardiovascular or hormonal issues worth investigating.

At U Care MD, Dr. Chen evaluates ED thoroughly — looking at potential contributing factors including testosterone levels, cardiovascular health, medication side effects, STD check, stress, and lifestyle — rather than simply writing a prescription and moving on. Treatment options may include:

  • Oral medications (sildenafil, tadalafil)

  • Hormonal evaluation and management if low testosterone is contributing

  • Lifestyle modifications (diet, exercise, sleep) that have meaningful impact on erectile function

  • Referral to urology or other specialists if needed

Low Libido & Low Testosterone

Low sex drive, persistent fatigue, difficulty concentrating, mood changes, and reduced muscle mass — these can all be signs of low testosterone or other hormonal imbalances, but they're also easy to attribute to stress or aging and leave unaddressed for years.

Dr. Chen evaluates low libido and suspected low testosterone with appropriate lab work, a thorough history, and an honest conversation about what's actually going on. If testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is appropriate, Dr. Chen can manage it — including monitoring for side effects and adjusting dosing over time. If something else is driving the symptoms, that gets investigated too.

Premature Ejaculation

Premature ejaculation is more common than most men realize, and more treatable than most assume. Dr. Chen discusses this topic directly — no awkward dance around the subject — and can offer evidence-based treatment options including behavioral techniques, topical treatments, and medication when appropriate.

Hair Loss

Androgenic alopecia (male pattern hair loss) is largely driven by genetics and hormones — and while it's not medically dangerous, it affects confidence and quality of life in ways that are worth addressing if it matters to you.

Dr. Chen can evaluate the cause and extent of hair loss and discuss evidence-based treatment options:

  • Finasteride — oral medication that reduces DHT and slows or stops further hair loss, and can promote regrowth in some patients

  • Minoxidil — topical or oral formulation to stimulate hair growth

  • Combination approaches — for patients who want a comprehensive plan

  • Referral to dermatology for advanced cases or additional treatment options (PRP, hair transplant evaluation)

Starting treatment earlier generally produces better results — so if this is something on your mind, sooner is better than later.

Muscle Loss & Body Composition

Loss of muscle mass with age — sarcopenia — is a real phenomenon that's closely tied to testosterone levels, physical activity, protein intake, and sleep quality. If you've noticed you're not as strong as you used to be, recovering more slowly from exercise, or your body composition has shifted despite no major changes in diet or activity, it's worth looking into.

At U Care MD, InBody body composition analysis gives you a precise breakdown of muscle mass, body fat percentage, visceral fat levels, and metabolic rate — not just a number on a scale. This data, combined with lab work and a thorough conversation, gives Dr. Chen a complete picture of what's going on and what's worth addressing.

Why U Care MD for Men's Health

A Doctor Who Has Time for the Real Conversation

These aren't topics that fit in a 15-minute visit. At U Care MD, appointments are longer by design — so there's actually time to discuss what's going on, ask questions, and build a plan together.

Continuity — The Same Doctor, Every Time

You won't repeat yourself to a new provider at every visit. Dr. Chen knows your history, your labs, your treatment plan, and your goals — which means follow-up is genuinely useful, not just a formality.

Private and Direct

No front desk staff asking why you're here. No explaining yourself to multiple people before you get to the doctor. You book, you come in, you talk to Dr. Chen. That's it.

Follow-Up Built Into Your Membership

Men's health concerns — whether it's ED, hair loss, or low testosterone — rarely resolve in a single visit. Treatment requires monitoring, adjusting, and checking in over time. As a member, that ongoing care is built into your membership — not billed separately every time you have a question or need a lab recheck.
